Lenses for Creators
Task Lenses for Makers
If you spend hours sewing, painting, repairing a car, building things, doing home repairs - or any other kind of detailed, close-up work - you may have discovered that your regular glasses just aren’t quite up to the task.
Progressive lenses are designed to give you a range of vision, but when you’re working at a very specific distance for a prolonged period, finding that little “sweet spot” can become a challenge. We start tilting our heads, leaning forward, moving closer or looking over the top of our glasses just to get the job done.
And after a few hours? Your neck and shoulders may have something to say about it.
This is where Task Lenses come in.
Task lenses are designed specifically around the working distance you need for a particular activity. Rather than trying to make one pair of glasses do everything, we can create a pair that is dialled in for the way you actually work.
I've recently come to appreciate this myself. After years of making and repairing eyewear, I realized that my own posture was paying the price. I've invested in two pairs of Task Lenses - one for the workshop and one for the sales floor - so I can work comfortably at the distances I use most.
Massages and stretching are wonderful, but for me, they were only providing temporary relief. Better vision and a more natural working posture have made a much bigger difference to how I feel at the end of the day.
If you do detailed, fixed-distance work, Task Lenses can eliminate those awkward, repetitive head movements and make it easier to maintain a relaxed posture.
Because when you're making something, the goal is to get into a flow, not to spend half your time searching for the right spot through your glasses.
If you have a hobby, craft or project that you spend hours doing, let's talk about creating a pair of lenses specifically for it.
