Shady Character was originally conceived in 1970’s New York by vintage fashion aficionados.

Today, a new creative team, working in collaboration with the original designers, has revived the company for a contemporary audience. Michael Carney, an artist and designer known for his Grammy Award-winning illustrations for The Black Keys, joins as Creative Director. This vintage inspired eyeglass collection is bold, chunky and stunning.
